VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for a bridge at the Intersection of State Road 66 and St. Joseph Avenue in Evansville.
Beginning on or around Monday, July 27, contractors will close the bridge on St. Joseph Avenue spanning Locust Creek for a rehabilitation project. The operation will be performed in phases with half of the bridge closed during each phase. Workers will be pathing and resurfacing the bridge as a part of the work.
During the project, lanes will be restricted to 12 feet both north and southbound. Left turns from St. Joseph Avenue to S.R. 66 will not be allowed. Traffic for westbound S.R. 66 will be detoured onto Mesker Park Drive and eastbound 66 traffic will be detoured to Allens Lane and Kratzville Road.
Work is expected to be complete by the beginning of November, depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
